És nit entrada a Salzadella. Quatre homes trastegen un piano vell i tracten d’emplaçar-lo dalt d’un carro. Després de no poc esforç, l’asseguren amb cordes i un d’ells seu al davant i comença a tocar-lo. Els altres prenen els seus instruments i s’hi afigen a la melodia. Llavors, el carro es posa en marxa i els Tamarros comencen una nova nit de ronda, puntejada d’afalacs cantats per a les fadrines que se’ls escoltaran amatents des de darrere dels finestrons. Picaina, cançó de feina de les comarques centrals valencianes que segurament passà del camp a la taverna, es desplega ací amb una estranya reminiscència d’aquell piano lligat al carro que sonava les nits de ronda pels foscos carrers de Salzadella.


It’s night-time at La Salzedella. Four men are carrying an old piano and trying to put it on a cart. After some hard work they fasten it with ropes, one of them sits at the piano and begins to play. The others take their instruments and join in the melody. Then the cart starts moving and a new night of hanging around starts, plucked with flattery sung for the girls listening to them from behind the blinds. Picaina, a work song from the valencian central area that was probably passed from field to tavern, invokes here a strange memory of that same piano fastened on the cart, playing in the dark streets of La Salzedella.
