L'hereu Riera

from Nits cosides by Mara Aranda

about

The yoke of fatality reigns in traditional ballads. A fatality learned in everyday experience: in 1910, in Banyeres de Mariola the dramatic story of the Hereu Riera and his fiancée is repeated again, in the figures of Matxero and Teresa, who, later, become the main characters in the local version of the ballad.

lyrics
